Spike's Website

Hi there! Welcome to Spike's Website. Spike is my cat, and he's the newest addition to my household. He is a domestic short hair (DSH), and is grey and white in color. He has the markings of a grey tuxedo, with a little pink nose, yellow-gold eyes, and pink and brown toepads.

When I met Spike for the first time, it was on June 3, 2000. I was in Meadville, Pennsylvania, which is about five hours from my home. I wasn't planning on getting a kitten that day, I was just there visiting a friend. I wasn't even a big fan of cats at the time... but somehow, this little guy bore himself right into my heart.

He was just over seven weeks old at the time. He was playing with his siblings, all running around chasing each other and climbing a nearby tree. His kitty-mommy was there as well - a lovely calico, who was very friendly. All together, the calico gave birth to five kittens, but only four were there to meet - a black kitten, two grey tabbies, and Spike. All of the kittens were very shy, and seemed a bit scared of people. Spike was the most outgoing of the kittens, and let me pick him up. When he fell asleep in my arms, I realized how much I wanted this little guy.

The next day we stopped to get some kitten supplies, and then I was on my way home. Luckily one of my best friends was with me. He offered to drive since Spike had no intention of staying in his new carrier for the trip. He stayed on my lap for the entire five hour drive. He slept most of the time, only waking now and then to look up at me and meow softly.

Since bringing Spike home, my whole attitude towards animals, especially cats, has changed. I love to pamper and spoil him as much as he'll let me. And his antics are forever amusing. Thank goodness for the digital camera! Since bringing him home I've taken over two thousand pictures of the little guy, and I don't see that habit stopping anytime soon. You can take a look at some of them in the Picture Galleries. (I'm a very proud mommy if you can't tell.)

Feel free to email Spike with any comments or questions. I'll be happy to navigate the keyboard for him. I think that's about all. Thanks for visiting!
